Message from President

Dr Raghaw Saran

At the onset, my deep appreciation and gratitude to each one of you for electing me as President, ISAS.

Spread all over the nation, through its ten chapters, the basic objective of disseminating science is our moral responsibility, for the development of the society. No one can serve the purpose better than an elite group of expert ISASites – Us.

We are committed to play a major role in the scientific arena involving research and development, pertinent technology, proper industrialisation and promoting awareness.

With this in view, we have constituted an executive committee of the society including executive committee members, patrons, advisors, and promoters. The EC will ensure pervading programs as novel ideas, their presentation in conferences and implementation of the suitable ones and their promotion for adoption by industries to reap the benefits.
The incorporation of the promoters will initiate implementation of the programs advised.

We have been continuously developing science over the last 40 years. In the last tenure, we have added three chapters- Pune, Belagavi and Jaipur (ad-hoc) and completed 78 webinars to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (during Covid 19 pandemic time) and “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav- A few
Excerpts” was published electronically.
This year we would be completing one year of our quarterly, peer reviewed, electronic, open access Journal with ISSN and doi secured,  Journal of ISAS (J. ISAS) by publishing its fourth issue online by April 30, 2023. Besides, publishing quarterly issue of News Letter and conferences pertaining to IASC (Indian Analytical Science Congress), were some of the other milestones for ISAS.

Analytical Sciences have assumed a big role and is never complete without relevant hybridisation of engineering (software, electronics, or AI etc.) and industrialisation. With these ideas in mind, let’s impart on proper utilisation of these opportunities to achieve the development of the country in scientific arena to make Us 'Atma-Nirbhar'.

Message from Secretary

Dhruva Kumar Singh

Let me first congratulate the new executive council members of ISAS for taking charge on 15th June 2019 at IMA House, Cochin, Kerala for the year 2019-2022. In his very first briefing President ISAS, Dr. P. P. Chadrachoodan ( who is well recognized, dynamic, and experienced) has already set the agenda for the next three years for all of us to elevate the status of ISAS and make it more meaningful for society at large by forming many groups. With the advancement of science & technology, analytical science is not only limited to the colleges and scientific laboratories but it has essentially spread over all the areas including healthcare, agriculture, environmental monitoring, forensics, chemical biology, synthetic chemistry, safety& security, industries, and many more. So our responsibility to promote and maintain the high standard of analytical science in the country by organizing workshops, symposia, interaction with students and academicians are huge and challenging. But it is also true that challenges open doors of opportunities. I am hopeful that together we can achieve.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the previous EC members especially Shri S.K.Malhotra (Ex-President) and Dr. Daisy Joseph (Ex. Hon. Secretary), for their efforts in putting things in order for ISAS, which was not in good shape till very recently. The tireless effort by Dr.V.R.Nair in keeping the ISAS vibrant needs worth mentioning here. He is a mentor in the real sense.

The development of new analytical techniques and methodologies is often led by public interest. Our President has taken a very good initiative to bring all the chapters together and keep harmonious relations amongst each other, which will go a long way in achieving our collective goal of spreading awareness regarding increased level of pollutants in food, water, and other essential commodities and suggesting an appropriate remedy.

The executive council of ISAS would like to acknowledge all the members for their support and goodwill. We look forward to the analytical scientists offering their co-operation in maintaining the high standard of ISAS. Looking ahead to days of challenges and opportunities.

Dr. Dhruva Kumar Singh,
Secretary.
